Puthiya Tamizhagam identifies 4 constituencies allotted to it by DMK
A day after it was allotted four seats by the senior ally DMK, the Puthiya Tamizhagam (PT) led by Dr K Krishanasamy today identified the constituencies it would be
contesting as part of the DMK-led Front in the May 16 Assembly polls
Talking to reporters after meeting DMK President M Karunanidhi at his Gopalapauram residence here, Krishnasamy said his party would contest from Vasudevanallur, Ottapidram, Srivilliputhur and Krishnarayapuram.
An agreement to this effect was signed between Mr Karunanidhi and Krishnasamy during the meeting. ''We got the constituencies of our choice. We are fully satisfied with it'', the PT leader said. He said a decision on facing the polls under the DMK symbol 'Rising sun' would be taken soon.
Of the total 234 seats, the DMK has allotted 41 seats to Congress, five each to Manithaneya Makkal Katchi and IUML, and three seats to three
In the event of some more smaller parties joining the Front, the DMK was expected to contest anywhere between 175 to 180 seats. It had yesterday completed the process of identifying the 41 constituencies allotted to Congress.
