Bar Council president D Selvam, in a statement issued here on Wednesday, said the suspension orders were being revoked in compliance with a High Court order, which directed the state bar council to pass the orders of revocation in a week’s time.

The advocates K Sathyabal, RY George Williams, R Prasadh, U Rajarajan, L Infant Dinesh, V Kayalvizhi and A Abdul Rahman were suspended by the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (BCTN&P) after they staged a protest, claiming that a CISF personnel had videographed the frisking of a woman advocate by a plain clothed woman personnel on November 20.

Subsequently, the Bar Council of India (BCI), the statutory body governing the legal profession, transferred disciplinary proceedings against the eight advocates to the Bar Council of Karnataka.
