11 months on, teacher-boy duo traced

Sources said that Murugan (name changed) (15) and his teacher Kothailakhsmi (23) of an aided school in Kadayanallur, eloped in April 2015. As efforts to find the duo proved futile, parents of the boy filed a habeas corpus petition in the Madurai Bench of the Madras HC. 

Police said Murugan, a son of Sugumar (name changed), a resident of Kadayanallur Krishnapuram, was studying in a government aided school in Tenkasi Ilathur. He developed an affair with his teacher, Kothailakhsmi, a resident of Sengottai. 

As family members of both the teacher and the boy opposed their relationship, the duo walked out of their houses and fled to Tirupur on March 31. Following this, the boy’s parents lodged a complaint. Acting on the plaint, Kadayanallur police registered an elopement case and searched for them. Recently, the cops got a tip off that the duo was staying in Tirupur. 

A special team then went to Tirupur and found the boy and Kothalakshmi. Both of them were working in a garment unit in Tirupur. Police said that  Kothailakhsmi is into fourth month of her pregnancy. Both of them were being brought by the special team to Madurai to be produced before the HC bench.
