Election Commision’s right connect to smartphone generation

Speaking about the latest video as a part of #TN100percent, which features Dinesh Karthik endearingly trying to teach wife Dipika to speak in Tamil, the clip has been hitting the right notes among youngsters. 

Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni said that the team chose the sporty couple because of their instant resonance with youngsters. 

“Dinesh and Dipika are a young couple and people can instantly connect with them. We are not just focussing on celebrities but also the content which will get more people into the electoral process. We are using concepts. For us, the voter is hero,” said Lakhoni. 

Lakhoni further added that the campaign not only targets the smartphone generation but also the public at large.  “The response has been extremely encouraging so far. After we started this campaign, more than two lakh people went online for registration/deletion and we expect these numbers to go up,” concluded Lakhoni.
