How do you teach robotics to school kids?
We actually break down the subject in a manner that any lay man can understand and help kids nurture a genuine interest in the area. It usually starts with something as simple as ‘what is a robot?’ and ‘what do they do?’. Once we successfully generate enough curiosity, we carry out guidance programme in particular areas of robotics each of them is interested in. This is eventually followed by classes on making a robot.
What is the scope of robotics in India?
It is an essential part of every sector from industrial automation to medicine and from hospitality to finance. Robotics is just picking up here. In the next four years, it will generate maximum number of jobs.
What are the challenges faced in development?
Among the many challenges that plague the Robotics field in India, the primary ones among them have to do with the high cost of adoption, procurement of hardware components and availability of skilled talent. The last arena is where we are trying to fill the gap. We are generating curiosity and giving basic knowledge to school and college kids so that they can pursue robotics.
