Pirated DVDs of new movies seized, one arrested

The Anti-Video Piracy Cell of Crime Branch on Monday arrested Immanuel from Urapakkam for distributing pirated DVDs of latest Tamil movies and porn films near Burma Bazaar on Rajaji Salai. He was produced before court on Tuesday and has been lodged in Puzhal jail. 

Pirated DVDs of new movies including Jil Jung Juk, Anjala, Vil Ambu, Visaranai Irudhu Suttru and Aranmanai 2 have been seized from Immanuel apart from porn and plain DVDs, totalling 1,290. Three writing machines and a UPS have also been recovered from his house at MGR Nagar in Urapakkam. 

According to police, he admitted during interrogation to making pirated versions of new Tamil releases and porn movies and distributing in Burma Bazaar and Tamabaram areas. Chennai City Commissioner T K Rajendran has ordered to nab the others too who are involved in the video piracy business. 

Recently, Director Sudha Kongra had lodged a complaint against distribution of pirated versions of her latest movie Irudhi Suttru , starring Madhavan in the lead.
