Ramadoss flays move to stay meet
PMK founder Dr. S. Ramdoss condemned the state government for obtaining an interim stay against the party’s proposed regional conference at Vandalur on the outskirts of the city Chennai on February 14

Chennai
The regional conferences were planned after Dharmapuri MP Anbumani Ramadoss was announced as the chief minister’s candidate for the ensuing assembly elections at the Salem regional conference on February 15. The Vandalur conference was meant to be the culmination of one year of the chief minister’s candidate announcement, Ramadoss said in a release.
Stating that it was unjust for the state government to resort to this tactic, he said, that all regional conferences conducted till now showed the increasing support for the PMK. All conferences were conducted in an orderly manner without any inconvenience to the public.
The state government resorted to this method as it could not stomach the party’s growth and was unable to check it directly, he said. The state government showed alacrity only on the PMK issue while it took no action on the Cauvery water dispute, jallikattu and GAIL matters which were pending for long, Ramadoss said.
