    NIMI to devise curriculum for all skill courses

    The National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI) has been given the task of devising a common curricula for all skill courses across industries in the country.

    In line with weaving the country into one skill curriculum and bringing in standardisation for skill development, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Wednesday said that National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI) will devise a common curricula for all skill courses across industries in the country and bring in synergy across all initiatives in skills.

    With the introduction of the common norms across all development schemes, all skill development courses in the country have to be aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework, he said during his visit to NIMI. He emphasised that NIMI will be able to put this one framework together with the experience it has so far.   

    The Minister said NIMI has till now designed modules and advanced modules for Directorate General of Training (DGT) for their Centre of Excellence for 21 sectors and instructional material for modular employable skills courses across 37 sectors. It has been active in delivering video instructional programmes, has digitised several course materials. 

    Applauding the good work that NIMI has done so far, Mr Rudy said, “We are trying to set a robust base for the skill ecosystem through a well-defined course curriculum across sectors."
