Chennai
Shrikrishna Madhusudhanan, Class 5 student of BVM Global school at Perungudi, emerged as the national winner of Google India’s Code to Learn Contest 2015, in which thousands of youngsters participated from across the country. Shrikrishna was among the three national winners in the Class 5 and 6 category. As part of the competition, students were asked to create a project using Scratch computer language or App Inventor, tools created by MIT. Shrikrishna Madhusudhanan said that he developed a shoot to score game, in which a person can move the shooter with the arrow keys and fire by pressing the space bar.
“I developed this game using Scratch language. I have recorded my voice in the game as instruction for people to play. My teachers helped me a lot to learn this language and develop the game,” he said, adding that he aspires to develop autonomous cars and airplanes in future.
Debjani Ghosh, principal of the BVM Global school, said that the school had provided handson training to students in robotics and when Google announced the competition, they enrolled students for the contest. “We had two finalists from our group and Shrikrishna won the competition,” she said.
