Jayalalithaa chairs TN cabinet meeting in city
A meeting of Tamil Nadu Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was held at the State Secretariat here today.

This was the first meeting of the State Cabinet in the New year.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister believed to have discussed about the financial allocations to be made for various departments in the interim Budget to be tabled soon.
Considering that the elections were due in May this year, the Cabinet believed to have discussed on the dates to be decided for convening the budget session during which Finance Minister O Panneerselvam would present the interim budget.
The meeting was also believed to have given the final touches to the budget, which was expected to contain various welfare measures for the people.
The meeting was attended by Ministers, Chief Secretary, Advisor to the State government and Senior officials of various departments.
