    Jayalalithaa inaugurates 35 new sub-stations

    Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday inaugurated 35 new sub stations of various categories totally valued at Rs. 1033.32 crore, through video conferencing from the Secretariat, according to an official release. It also includes the 230/110 KV sub-station which she inaugurated at Thingalur in Erode district recently. The other power sub stations inaugurated in various districts include 230/110 KV, 230/110-33 KV, 110/33 KV, 110/22 KV and 110/11 KV sub stations. 

    Besides this, 33/11KV power sub-stations were set up in places including Thiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Madurai, Vellore and Krishnagiri.  The setting up of new and upgraded power sub-stations is aimed at providing the consumers with uninterrupted and maximum power supply by reducing power dissipation and controlling maintenance tariff, the release added. Those present at the occasion include electricity minister Natham E. Viswanathan, chief secretary K. Gnanasekaran, government advisor Sheila Balakrishnan, energy secretary NS Palaniappan, TANGEDCO CMD Dr .M. Sai Kumar, the release said.
