    What is emotional quotient?

Take the case of five chartered accountants, each of them having a similar know-how at the entry level and track their lives five years later. Each of them will be at different levels of progress. That difference explains their emotional quotient.

What are the elements that comprise EQ?

EQ includes interpersonal skills, impulse control, the ability to express yourself, empathy and your ability to navigate between emotions.

Can you augment EQ at any age?

Yes, you can; there is a development pathway and you can develop it even at 65. When we take the example of a top performing person and see the various composite scales that determine the person’s success, we can compare it to the performance of an average performer. You then get an idea about the areas we need to work on for the average performer to be on par with the top performer.
