M Karunanidhi to appear before court
Defying his age, 92-yearold DMK President and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Thursday said he had decided to personally appear before a court and face the defamation case filed against him by the ruling AIADMK.

In a statement here, he said he would personally appear before the Principal Sessions Court at 10.30am on January 18.Â
He said he had lifted a part of an article published by leading Tamil magazine on the topic ‘Four year achievements of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’ and issued it as a statement, following which a defamation case was filed against him by the government and the magazine.
