The Directorate of Matriculation Schools has warned private schools against admitting students to fill up seats for various classes before April this year.
The directorate has warned of stern action against schools violating its circular. R Pitchai, the Director of Matriculation Schools, in a circular to all inspectors of matriculation schools dated January 4, said the directorate had information that some private matriculation schools had started admitting students in December last.
“We wish to inform all private matriculation schools that they should start their admission process only in April this year. The inspector of matriculation schools in each district should send a circular to all school heads with relevant government orders, get their acknowledgement and keep it safe for records,” Pitchai said.
Inspectors of matriculation schools were asked to conduct surprise checks/ inspections to ensure that schools did not start admissions before the stipulated period.
The directorate warned of action against schools violating the circular. The director has urged people with information on any school conducting admissions before the mandated period to contact the DMS office over phone at 044- 28270169.
