Police said that Rajendran (60), husband of Vijaya of Sriperumbudur, was a realtor-cum-financier. The couple had a son, Sathyanarayana. On Friday evening, Rajendran suddenly complained of severe chest pain. His family members immediately rushed him to a private hospital near their house. Doctors at the local hospital after checking Rajendran, advised his family to take him to another private hospital in Poonamallee. When Rajendran was taken to the Poonamallee hospital, doctors there declared him ‘dead on arrival.’

So Vijaya and Sathyanarayana fixed an ambulance to take Rajendran’s body back home. When the ambulance was passing through the Sriperumbudur Cross Road, a private bus suddenly crashed into their vehicle. In the impact, Vijaya, Sathyanarayana suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot. On information, Sriperumbudur police inspector Balu along with a team reached the spot and recovered the bodies and sent them for post mortem to the government hospital. Sathyanarayana is survived by wife Sujitha, a son and a daughter.
