Train services resume from Central, Egmore stations

In a huge relief for stranded passengers, train services have been resumed from the Chennai Central and Egmore stations on Sunday

Train services, which were suspended due to water logged tracks, resumed

Chennai

The Railways halted its services due to torrential rains and massive waterlogging on tracks since the last 4 days. 

The trains which are on run include the Chennai-New Delhi Grand Trunk Express, Chennai-Mysore Kaveri Express and Chennai-New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express.

Some other express trains like 17644 Kakinada Port-Chennai Egmore Circar Express, Train No. 17652 Kacheguda-Chennai Egmore Express, Train No. 12760 Hyderabad-Chennai Central Charminar Express, Train No. 12604 Hyderabad-Chennai Central Superfast Ex¬press and Train No. 12711 Vijayawada-Chennai Central Pinakini Express were being operated from the city. 

However, the first train operated on Sunday was Chennai-Central-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman express which left at 0515 hours. Chennai Central-Mysore Shatabdi Express also left as scheduled on Sunday.
