The central government’s flood damage assessment team headed by TVSN Prasad visited North Chennai and Thiruvallur on Saturday. Starting at Senniamman koil street in Tondiarpet, they interacted with victims and checked the quality of food being served from the AMMA canteen. They visited Ilaya Mudhai and Kalasa mudhali streets and inspected stagnant water being pumped out.

While viewing a photo exhibition on flood damage in VOC Nagar, rain affected people complained of not receiving government relief. They then visited Kargil Nagar and inspected the medical camps and drinking water supply.

In Ponneri, farmers poured out their woes when the team inspected their damaged crops. Some farmers who faced financial ruin wept openly during the interaction. They also viewed a photo exhibition on damage at Sholavaram and local officials briefed the team on the photos.
