The auction that will end on July 7 has two paintings, ‘Pride Rock’ and ‘Lotus Pond’ done by artist Kavita Sunderrajan. .Ritika Rai Reddy, the founder of Crowdwave, says, “We are developing novel ways of enabling charity and support the people in need and Art for Charity is an initiative in that light. It is an online art auction on Instagram that allows talented artists to exhibit their work on the Crowdwave page and calls upon people to place their bids. The auction that has started on July 5 at 5 pm will close on July 7, 5 pm. If anyone wanted to place a bid, they can either send a direct message to us with a bid amount and e-mail address or they can comment under the photograph itself. When we close the auction on July 7, we pick the top five bidders and get in touch with the highest bidder.” Ritika adds that Kavita has pledged all the proceeds from the auction towards charities that support children with special needs. “Kavita is a dear friend of mine and she has been donating periodically on our platform. It was her birthday on Sunday and she wanted to paint for charity. That’s how we collaborated for this art auction. It is an event that aims at creating engagement at a community level, wherein many people can come together for good. And that’s exactly what Crowdwave stands for,” she tells DT Next.
