With nCoronavirus growing into a global medical threat, Chennaiites have been encountering more rumours than real news about the deadly disease, especially on social media. However, it is not a common sight to see the general public being concerned about the safety of the doctors, nurses or other hospital staff. But this reporter had a chance encounter with a 63-year-old woman, who was giving some valuable tips to the nurses at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. The woman, who has learnt about the disease on TV and newspapers was seen near the entrance of the Tower-2 of the hospital and picking up conversation with nurses and medicos. Discussing the ‘new’ virus, she could be heard advising them that while their service is significant, they should be careful so that they don’t get afflicted with the disease. She even mentioned reports about doctors in China risking their lives to treat nCoV patients. It was a touching moment for the nurses who said no one thinks of the risk they take, and the gesture of the old woman was house-warming. Later, the woman narrated to this reporter the trauma she went through after her grandson got inflicted with dengue and said she did not want to see anyone else going through such pain.
