The vintage car rally is an effort aimed at showcasing vintage cars that have been maintained in excellent condition due to the efforts of motorcar enthusiasts who preserve, maintain and show off their road-worthiness during the rally.
The cars will assemble at the Prarthana drive-in theatre on Saturday around 7.30 in the morning, allowing the public a chance to glimpse the beauties on wheels. They will be flagged off around 9 am by Pratish, Managing Director, VGN Developers, one of the co-sponsors of the rally.
On reaching Pondy, the cars will be on display for four hours on the Beach Road, for public viewing. The return leg of the rally will start from Puducherry on January 29.
Car enthusiasts can get a good look at the vintage vehicles at the WelcomHotel Kences Palm Beach, Mamallapuram, from noon to 2 pm. Puducherry Tourism and CavinKare are the other sponsors of the rally organised by Madras Heritage Motoring Club, a non-profit organisation.
