MUMBAI: Streaming service ZEE5 on Monday announced its new original series ''Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy'' on the occasion of India's 76th Independence Day.
Dubbed as a gripping espionage drama, the show will present the inspiring story of India's secret agent in Pakistan who rose to the occasion to save the nation and turn the tide of the war in his country's favour.
Directed by Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai, ''Mukhbir'' will feature an ensemble cast of Zain Khan Durrani, Prakash Raj, Adil Hussain, Barkha Bisht, Harsh Chhaya, Satyadeep Mishra and Zoya Afroz.
The eight-episode series is produced by Victor Tango Entertainment and follows a secret agent who led India to evade several aggressive advances from the enemy country by providing intelligence and by helping India win the 1965 war.
Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer at ZEE5 India, said the streaming service has always strived to curate a slate that reflects India's cultural diaspora, legacy and unearths the hidden stories of the unknown heroes.
