Ponniyin Selvan shoot resumes in Pollachi from Thursday
The shoot of the most-anticipated film Ponniyin Selvan is all set to resume from today in Pollachi. Mani Ratnam has assembled his lead actors to shoot a short schedule.

Sources close to the film say that the unit will head to Mysuru and Hyderabad for further schedules and finish the shooting in a single stretch. “The Hyderabad schedule of the film that starts in the first week of January will be the biggest and the longest schedule. That portion of the film will have Vikram, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai in attendance and will be done in a 30-day stretch,” a source reveals.
The post production of the portions shot until February have been completed and Mani Ratnam is aiming to release the first part of the film for Deepavali next year while the second part will release in April 2022.
Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, Jayam Ravi, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarathkumar, Mohan Raman and Nizhalgal Ravi are playing pivotal characters in the film. AR Rahman is composing the music for the film and has recorded a few songs, Ravi Varman is the cinematographer while Sreekar Prasad handles the cuts.
