While many say that the lockdown has been a bane, Gayathri Reddy sees the positive side of it and calls it an ‘eye opener’. “I had a chance to learn and realise a couple of things that I should have in the past. But better late than never. Talking about the bright side of this lockdown, I spent a lot of time with my family, which I usually don’t get. I have always been a huge fan of Japanese and Korean dishes. Hence, I learned to make my favourite Japanese and Korean dishes at home, that we usually get only at restaurants in Chennai,” she starts off. The actress says that she has turned an avid reader too in the last few months. “I was never one. Eventually, I started reading and have completed my first two novels ever. I’m glad I was able to schedule a routine. Apart from this I started paying attention to my mind and body, and I also slept as much as I could,” she tells us.

However, Gayathri says that she missed walking with her favourite stray dogs and cows. “I have always been an animal lover. However late I finish work, I make sure I spend some time with the animals. Not just my pet, but my little stray friends in my neighbourhood too. It makes me happy. I feel incomplete without spending time with them and walking around petting dogs and cows,” she adds with a smile. The actress also reveals that she has turned entrepreneur this lockdown. “A lot of people know me as an actor. I’m an artist as well. I have started my own business called The Canvas Talks. I will be balancing both acting and painting for the years to come,” she says.

Gayathri had posted a few of her workout pictures on her social media recently. “To be honest, I haven’t worked out since the first lockdown. I have a peculiar body type with a good metabolism. So, I tend to lose weight if I work out for longer intervals. I need the gym and weights for particular workouts that I’ve been following for years. Not being able to work out for six months is certainly dreadful. I’m just glad I can get back to my happy place now,” she tells us. On the work front, Gayathri says that she has a couple of projects in her kitty. “I have been in talks with a few production houses and an official announcement will be made soon,” she concludes.
