Crime thrillers resonate with audiences instantly, says Mani Karthi

“The response has been tremendous for Thadayam and has been trending on IMDb since its release. Initially, we planned it as a feature film. Then the producers suggested to release it as a mini series. Each episode will have a runtime of 45 minutes. The other episodes will release in October,” Mani Karthi told  DT Next. When asked about making his debut with a crime thriller, he replied, “Crime thriller has the power to make the audience travel with the story and the director’s vision.

 They put themselves in the character’s shoes to unravel the onscreen mystery. Hence I chose Thadayam as my first script.” Karthi said that he currently has no plans to prolong the series and tweak the original script. “The mystery will be revealed in three episodes. If all three episodes go well with the audience, we would look into the possibility of coming up with a few more seasons in future,” he concluded.
