“I grew up watching my parents and they always knew that I would follow their footsteps,” says Edwin in a chat with DT Next. “I started practising on different musical instruments from a young age.” An alumnus of AR Rahman’s school, the KM Music Conservatory (KMMC), Edwin recently released a romantic single, Adiye Kutty Dhevadhe under the label of Think Music. The song has received positive reviews since its launch and continues to attract viewers on YouTube.

Edwin informs that he first wrote the song when he was in Class 11. “I kept working on it for years and in the meantime, I started learning music myself. After joining KMMC for an audio engineering course, I grasped more skills from my HOD and mentor Prem sir who gave us interesting assignments,” says 19-year-old Edwin.

While pursuing the course, Edwin decided to do some internships and soon got into SK Cinemas. “People were surprised to see someone young like me coming here,” smiles Edwin. “One day, they asked me to share my music. So I played Adiye Kutty Dhevadhe and they were very impressed.”

Whispers about his songs soon reached the ears of Magesh, the social media and branding manager of Think Music. “He then introduced me to Santhosh Kumar sir, the VP of Think Music who loved my work. They then asked if I could work with them and release the song. I never expected any of this to happen,” Edwin says.

“I have reached this position only because of the constant support I got from my parents, my piano tutor Augustine Paul sir and SJ Suryah uncle, who happens to be my mother’s friend. They never stopped motivating me,” concludes Edwin. The youngster plans to bring out more singles in Poster of Adiye Kutty Dhevadhe the coming weeks.
