Jayeshbhai is an unlikely hero: Ranveer

The latest is that the makers of the film will be unveiling the first look poster of the film today in which Ranveer is seen to have undergone a huge transformation to play the role.

Talking about playing a Gujarati lad in the comic caper, Ranveer said, “Charlie Chaplin once said, ‘To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!’. Similarly, Jayeshbhai is an unlikely hero - an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary when he is caught in a situation. Jayeshbhai is sensitive and compassionate. He believes in equality in the society that is deeply rooted in patriarchal ideals, practices and doctrines.”

Divulging more about the role he said, “Jayeshbhai presented an exciting challenge - to deconstruct myself in order to transform into a kind of character I’ve never inhabited before. The director of the film, Divyang has poured his soul into this brilliant piece of writing that will nudge you to introspect whilst making you smile and laugh throughout its runtime.
