Director of Rajini 169 has not been finalised yet

As Rajini 168 aka Thalaivar 168 bankrolled by Sun Pictures and directed by Siruthai Siva is all set to go on floors, speculation on who will be directing Thalaivar 169 has been doing the rounds on social media. While one section of the media reported that it will be Gautham Menon directing Rajinikanth others said that Vetri Maaran has narrated an intense script to the actor and the shoot will go on floors from July next year. When contacted a tinseltown source, he told DTNext, “The director for Superstar’s 169th film hasn’t been decided yet. It is not Gautham Menon or Vetri Maaran, who will be directing him in future. As of now he is focused on his film with Siruthai Siva and might announce his entry into politics in January.”

The source added that Superstar will start listening to new scripts only in the second quarter of next year. “If he gets into active politics, he will take a call on his acting career post Siva’s project.

Moreover, Gautham Menon and Vetri Maaran too will be busy with projects that they have already committed to. Gautham will complete Dhruva Natchathiram and is likely to direct Suriya which will be bankrolled by Vels Film International,” the source revealed.
