Market Raja MBBS will be Arav’s first big release after winning the Bigg Boss season one title. “I didn’t want to take things for granted after winning Bigg Boss. I was looking for right scripts and that is when I landed Market Raja MBBS. I feel fortunate because, I belong to a generation that grew up watching Saran sir’s classics like Kaadhal Mannan and Attagasam among others,” Arav begins. Market Raja sounds similar to Saran’s blockbuster with Kamal Vasool Raja MBBS (2004). “This title has been lingering around in my mind for over 15 years. In fact, Vasool Raja was initially titled Market Raja. However, we thought Vasool Raja was more suitable than this for my film with Kamal sir. In Market Raja too, Arav plays a doctor and how he goes on to become Market Raja from there is the crux of the story. For this I needed a hero, who can shoulder the film and still has a larger-than-life image. I saw that in Arav and the film took off,” says Saran. Arav says that Market Raja was rather interesting than a challenging film for him. “The script required me to transform instantly on the sets to play this character. There are a lot of positive takeaways for me from the movie and helped me prepare for my roles in other films as well,” adds the actor.

Saran, who is known for his commercial blockbusters says that Market Raja cannot be restricted to one particular genre. “There is action, fantasy and horror with a proper connect to a story. This cannot be typecast as a commercial film. As you would have seen in the trailer, Market Raja gets into a situation and what happens from thereon will make for an engrossing film,” says Saran with a smile. The film has Radikaa Sarathkumar playing a pivotal role. “The connect between Radikaa’s character and Arav’s character has a sub plot to it. There are other characters that will move the story forward as they are all interconnected,” explains Saran. The director went on a seven-year hiatus before making his comeback in 2017. “From now on, I have decided that I will be doing films at a regular interval for my fans,” he promises. Market Raja MBBS is all set to hit the screens laterthis month.
