Kamal Haasan hits back at producer Gnanavel Raja
On Thursday, producer-distributor Gnanavel Raja filed a complaint against Kamal Haasan with Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) and said that the latter owed him Rs 10 crore which he had lent him during the financial imbroglio of Uttama Villain. Apparently, the actor-politician had also agreed earlier to act and direct a film for Studio Green, which he failed to do so.

Now, amal Haasan has denied it as baseless allegations and also said that his company might take legal action against Gnanavel Raja for tarnishing his image.
NV Narayanan, CEO of Raaj Kamal Films International, issued an official statement saying, “The news Gnanavel Raja having paid Rs 10 crore to Kamal Haasan towards the release of Uttama Villain is instigated now to delibrately tarnish his image. Raaj Kamal Films had got into an agreement with Tripathi Brothers Media Private Limited to produce the film Uttama Villain on first copy basis. We completed all obligations and have even handed over the copy to Tripathi Brothers as agreed. So there is no basis to say that Gnanavel paid Kamal Haasan to get the film released. There is no privity between Gnanavel and Kamal Haasan in any manner.”
They also revealed that Raaj Kamal Films is evaluating legal options to proceed against those who are delibrately and mischievously planning to defame Kamal Haasan and Raaj Kamal Film International.
Meanwhile, the actor is currently shooting for Indian 2 in Rajahmundry. He will also start working on Thalaivan Irukkiran which will also be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
