The project will be produced by the team of Kolaigaran, which includes Pradeep Kumar, G Dhananjayan and Kamal Bohra. Talking to DT Next, Allu Sirish says, “I’m happy that I’m making my comeback in Tamil with this project. Gouravam (directed by Radha Mohan) released in 2013, and I haven’t been a part of a Tamil film since then. I have been following Vjiay Milton’s films and they have an underlying message for the audience. I also liked the idea of playing the lead alongside Vijay Antony as he is a noted actor both in Tamil and Telugu industries for his blockbusters.”

The untitled project will have the actor in a never-seen-before-role. “I haven’t landed such an offer even in Telugu before. I have only played urban characters so far. In this film, for the first time I will be playing a small-town guy. Apart from the content, the film’s setup is positive. It is not only the content that will take the film to the audience. As actors, we look for the right production banner to take it to the right target audience,” he firmly believes. He adds that he will shoot for his portions in November. “The shoot will happen in Goa,” he reveals.

Allu says that he isn’t finicky when it comes to giving the nod to movies. “When I am approached by a good production house and a strong content, I give the nod to the project. The release dates somehow get pushed and I end up doing films once in 12 or 18 months. Certain things aren’t in my control. From now on, I will be doing more films than I used to across languages,” he says with a smile. Having co-produced Ghajini and Magadheera under his home banner, Allu talks about the growth of southern movie industries in recent years. “In Tollywood, we look up to Tamil and Malayalam film industries and they the way they function,” he says. Tell him that it is the other way round, he replies before concluding, “Then I’m glad.”
