Despite flops, Nayanthara firm on her remuneration

There were reports that the actress has decided to reduce her salary, (Rs 3.5 cr as of now) after consecutive flops. We contacted her manager, who denied the reports. “Those are false reports. She has been signing films for the same remuneration that she signed her previous releases this year. Her latest release Kolayuthir Kaalam bombed at the box office because it is an incomplete film that has been in the making for almost three years. The makers desperately wanted to release it and it ended up as a disaster. However, Nayanthara’s career in general has been smooth and no such decisions have been made from our end.”

Nayanthara will next be seen in Bigil, featuring Vijay in the lead. The film, directed by Atlee, is a sports drama and will hit the screens for Deepavali. The actress has also teamed with Rajinikanth for Darbar, slated to hit screens for Pongal. She is also awaiting the release of epic drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in Telugu, featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi.
