Looks like acclaimed-filmmaker Balaji Shakthivel has taken up acting seriously. Earlier, we reported that he will be playing the role of a cop in Vetri Maaran’s Asuran, featuring Dhanush in the lead. The latest is that director Balaji Shakthivel will play a crucial role in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming production venture, Vaanam Kottatum.
“Balaji Shakthivel has already joined the sets of the film. He plays Vikram Prabhu’s relative and his character will have grey shade. It’s too early to reveal more details about it,” the source adds. Mani Ratnam was originally supposed to direct the project. However, as he was busy with the adaptation of popular Tamil epic Ponniyin Selvan, he couldn’t take this up. Radhika, Sarath Kumar, Shanthanu and Aishwarya Rajesh will also be seen playing pivotal roles in the film.
