I am a huge fan of Vetri Maaran’s films, says actor Soori
We had recently reported that comedian Soori has been roped in to play the lead in National-award winning director Vetri Maaran’s next after Asuran.
The latest is that the actor has confirmed to us that he will be making his debut as the hero in the ace director’s flick.
“I had no plans of turning a hero. However, when Vetri anna approached me, I couldn’t say no to him,” he told DT Next. The actor said that he was a huge fan of the director. “I am a Vetri Maaran fan first and only then an actor. I am this guy who would stand in line to click a selfie with Vetri. The films that he has given to Tamil cinema are beyond comparisons. I’m glad that Elred Kumar, who has made notable films under his banner RS Infotainment, has come forward to produce the film,” he said. An official announcement will be made soon.
The actor is currently shooting for the yet-untitled Sivakarthikeyan-Pandiraj’s film. “I wrapped up my schedule for Vijay Sethupathi’s Sanga Thamizhan and joined Sivakarthikeyan’s film. Apart from this I have a film with Kathir titled Sarbath and another project with Vemal,” he said. Looking back at his journey in the tinseltown, Soori said, “I started my career in 1996 and in 2006, I got my first major role. Since then the audience have made me a part of their household and I’m grateful for that.” We couldn’t resist but ask him about Soori’s six pack abs. “I dedicate over an hour everyday for workout. I also follow a strict diet regimen to maintain my six-pack,” he concluded.
