On November 2018, ace filmmmaker Pa Ranjith announced that he will be making his Bollywood debut with a film on the life of Birsa Munda, a tribal leader from Jharkhand who stood up to British colonial oppressors in the 19th century. Bankrolled by Namah Pictures, the film was supposed to be go on floors early this year.

But since the shoot has been postponed to early 2020, we hear that, Ranjith has decided to make another bilingual flick, which will feature some of the top stars from both Tamil and Telugu. Ranjith has apparently approached Arya and Rana Daggubati to play the leads in the film and the pre-production works has already begun. “The film will be a complete action entertainer, which will be extensively shot in Chennai and Hyderabad,” a source said.

When DT Next contacted Arya for confirmation, he said that the director has been in talks with him for some time now and nothing has been finalised yet. It is also worth noting that Arya and Rana Daggubati had earlier shared screenspace together in the Tamil remake hit Malayalam film, Bangalore Days. Meanwhile, Ranjith is simultaneously working on his second productional venture, titled Irandamulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu, which is directed by Athiyan Athirai.
