Director Ezhil finalised me in a single take: Sakshi

I play a village belle in this film, which will have shades of a girl from Tirunelveli. There’s another film titled Pagaivanuku Arulvai directed by Anis of Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah fame. In this, my character will have different shades,” says the actress.

Sakshi is elated as she starts talking about her film with Ezhil. “I was recommended by cinematographer UK Senthilkumar and was called for audition. I was briefed about my portions which take place in Tirunelveli. I went to the sets dressed in a half saree. I was given the dialogue and I enacted the role to Ezhil sir in a single take. Without thinking twice, he finalised me for the role. The shoot has been shaping up well. GV Prakash, who is known for his versatility is an ideal co-star, who keeps his colleague in a comfort zone. Initially when I had jitters about carrying myself well in this character, it was Senthil, Ezhil sir and GV who made me feel at home,” she says with a smile. “Not to forget that Sathish kept the sets together with his amazing sense of humour,” the actress adds quickly.

She will also be shooting for Pagaivanukku Arulvai in the coming months. “The film is an adaptation from Shakespeare’s Macbeth which is a first-of-its-kind in Tamil cinema. My character is based on one of the pivotal characters in the play that has different shades to it,” she opens up. Sakshi, who also has Cinderella clarifies that she is not on a signing spree. “If I were signing films, I could have done at least 20 films by now. I agree to do films that have something substantial. It is not the screen time that matters. Even if it is for five minutes, it should create an impact among the audience. My roles in GV’s film and Pagaivanukku Arulvai, take the story forward,” she tells us.

There is a speculation that the actress is one of the contestants in Bigg Boss 3. “I have been approached but I am yet to take a call on it. I have good films on hand for which I need to complete the shoot,” she concludes.
