Debut director Pradeep Kilkar said that it was fun directing a kid and a dog for Bow Bow. “Film institutes usually teach aspiring filmmakers that they shouldn’t cast a kid or a dog in their maiden film as it is tasking.

Though I am not from any film school, my friends there have told me this. I wanted to break the norm and emerge successful. There have been many pet films before. But Bow Bow will not a typecast one,” Pradeep told DTNext. The film which has won several international awards revolves around a dog and a five-year-old boy. “This is not about a dog performing stunts by jumping and running around and sniffing bombs. Bow Bow deals with emotions. When the boy cries, the dog will also cry. When the boy is happy, you will see the dog smile in the film. This is something that cannot be taught by trainers. Also, the little boy, named Ahaan is quite a mischievous kid. He doesn’t listen to anyone on the sets or even his parents. I am the only person he listens to. So, I had to keep him in his comfort zone,” he added.

Produced by London Talkies, Bow Bow has music by Marc B Muse and Dennis Vallaban. The film is all set to hit the screens in the second week of June.
