“It has been a working birthday. Release of 100 has made it even more special. So, I will be having a blast for my birthday after the release of the movie and getting the audience’s feedback,” says the actor. He quickly assures that the film is a ‘complete package and will cater to the audience’s expectations. “100 is an action film, which also has emotions, comedy and other elements that you’d look for in a commercial entertainer. Director Sam Anton, who is known for his comic films, has neatly put the bits and pieces of his writing together and has given a wholesome film,” says a confident Atharvaa. The film will have the actor playing a cop for the first time in his career of 13 films. “I always wanted to play a cop. The role is a dream for any actor. In 100, I play an enthusiastic cop, who chases criminals. Moreover, my character in the film Sathya is about how today’s youngster is willing to become a cop and what happens after he becomes one. The graph of my character will have an elevation once I am put in a control room and what sort of cases I come across. Though the film doesn’t have any specific message as such, it has touched upon a few day-today social issues and he goes about solving them,” the actor elaborates.
Atharvaa also heaps praises on his co-star Hansika and says, “She knows what she does. That helps her improvise in front of the camera, which is amazing.” With his last film Boomerang receiving mixed reviews from the audience, the actor says that his journey hasn’t hit any roadblock. “I take it film by film. If one doesn’t work, I don’t do another film just to prove anybody. Some film might work while a few doesn’t. Its all a part and parcel of our work,” he concludes.
