Canara Bank logs net profit of Rs 2,525 cr in second quarter

Operating profit for the quarter stood at Rs 6905 crore, up by 23.22 per cent, while Net-Interest Income grew by 18.51 per cent, the public sector lender said in a BSE filing.

NEW DELHI: Canara Bank on Thursday said it has registered a net profit of Rs 2,525 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2022, as against the net profit of Rs 1,333 crore for the same period last year. Operating profit for the quarter stood at Rs 6905 crore, up by 23.22 per cent, while Net-Interest Income grew by 18.51 per cent, the public sector lender said in a BSE filing. Global business for the quarter increased by 13.89 per cent YoY to Rs 19,58,111 crore with global deposits at Rs 11,33,964 crore and global advance (gross) at Rs 8,24,147 crore, a statement from the bank said. Domestic deposit of the bank for the July-September period stood at Rs 10,56,519 crore, registering a YoY growth of 7.77 per cent while domestic advances (gross) of the bank stood at Rs 7,80,049 crore registering a YoY growth of 17.66 per cent.
