Accord Group enters pharma biz, to focus on oncology, nephrology

The company aims to focus on research and development, manufacturing and supply of sterile and non-sterile formulation products and API across countries. It also plans to make a strong impact in the domestic pharma market.

He added that the company would launch various products in international markets including USA, Europe fromnext year.

As of now, Accord Group is offering two key therapies — oncology and nephrology — to fill the gap between quality and demand, the top executive said. The products range deals with treatment during blood cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, hemodialysis, kidney transplant and renal medicines.

Speaking about the research and development and manufacturing facilities in the city, Choube said, “The facility at Oragadam, Chennai, is at par with global standards. It has the required modern equipment for design and development, manufacturing and supply of parenteral and oral solid dosages formulations (oncology and non-oncology).’’

He added that the facility has been built in accordance with the principles of current Good Manufacturing Practices followed by regulatory agencies across the globe.
