‘RAISE 2020: Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020’ is aimed at spearheading inclusion and transformation while giving a platform to domestic and international start-ups to present their AI innovations before the Prime Minister.

Abhishek Singh, President and CEO of National e-Governance Division, said, “In the wake of restrictions being imposed on travel by various universities, companies and governments because of coronavirus, the summit has been postponed. It will be held in either September or October. The final dates will be announced soon.”

Elaborating on the potential use of AI in businesses, Singh said, “Studies from various organisations such as Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers have shown the global value of AI technology to be around $15 trillion. By 2035, the potential for AI enabled businesses in India will be around $1 trillion. Hence, we must harness the potential for emerging technologies as we work towards realising the $1 trillion IT roadmap.”

Additional Chief Secretary (Information technology), Hans Raj Verma said the government has an excellent team of professionals in the IT department, led by Santosh Misra, CEO, TNeGA. “TN will lead India in harnessing the transformative power of AI,” he concluded.
