Through this MoU, NSTI will offer a course in Zoho Creator, a low-code programming platform. Anyone with knowledge of basic programming concepts can enrol for the course titled Create and Operate Business Apps using Zoho Creator. It will be taught by Zoho Creator’s training partner, ITK Education Services.

This 6-day long course will be split into two parts—36 hours will be dedicated to training the students on how to use Zoho Creator for building applications and 12 hours to soft skills training.  Zoho has also set up a Centre of Excellence, a classroom facility with modern infrastructure, at the institute’s Guindy campus.

“Zoho is thrilled to partner with the National Skill Training Institute. We are providing students with an opportunity to learn how to create applications for process automation, a major requirement for any business in the age of digital transformation. With Zoho Creator, students can easily translate a business need to an app quickly without facing programming complexities,” said Hyther Nizam, VP, Product Management at Zoho. “We strongly believe in the power of skill training and hope to reach as many individuals as possible.”

Nizam tells us, “We have been engaging with the government for the last one year. The team did its due diligence and visited our office as getting into IT was a whole new paradigm for them. They are good at imparting education in non-IT courses and they were looking at product firms. They spoke to students who had undertaken training that we held in collaboration with a private firm and were convinced about the strengths of this course and its industry impact.” He adds, “Chennai is turning into the software service hub of India right now. And it makes sense to help create an ecosystem for employment here.”  HV Samvatsar, ISDS, Director, NSTI-MSDE was optimistic about the opportunities that would be made available to students who would take up such courses in near future.
