The company made its initial public offering in June 1998, trading under Nasdaq ticker symbol CTSH at $10.00 per share. Cognizant has since grown to be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index, an index comprised of the largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

The company has grown from a $60 million software development and maintenance Services Company to a $15 billion global professional services leader.

“Celebrating 20 years listed on the Nasdaq is a major milestone for us,” commented Karen McLoughlin.

“Cognizant has evolved into a $15 billion global technology and services leader with more than 260,000 employees worldwide.  We’re proud to be playing a central role in building the digital economy and making its benefits accessible to people, communities and organizations throughout the world.”

Cognizant’s innovation in areas like artificial intelligence, cloud and big data is helping its clients transform for the digital era, and has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth.

Within 10 years of CTSH first crossing the ticker, Cognizant entered the Fortune 1000, was ranked No. 3 among Fortune’s Most Admired Companies in the Infotech Services category, and was named No. 7 on the Forbes “Fastest Growing Tech Companies” list.

This year, in addition to being ranked among the Fortune 200, Cognizant has been recognized as one of Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2018, and named to Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies list.
