Funskool to be exclusive India distributor for Playmobil toys

The Indian toy market is estimated to be worth Rs 3,000 cr at retail currently which makes it only around 0.5% of the global toy market. However, the Indian market is expected to be one of the fastest growing markets over the next ten years. Over the last few years, Funskool successfully built its own chain of retail stores, located across India and is looking to increase its retail network to over 30 stores over the next two years. The company will soon make an announcement regarding its tie up with two more reputed international toy brands.

The Brandstätter Group based in Franconia (Germany) generates a global turnover of 679 million euros with its Playmobil brand – and it saw a double-digit increase of 11% in 2017. The group consolidated its strong market position in Germany and internationally in 2017.
