“Out of seven companies, five complied with the requirement of the government. This is according to the (technical bids) submission that were made last Tuesday,” an official of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said in a live-streaming session.

The first eligible company is China State Construction Engineering Corporation, second one is China Harbour Engineering Company, the third one is one Sinohydro Corporation Limited, the fourth one is the joint venture of Megawide-GMR Infrastructure (Singapore) and the fifth one is Tokwing Construction Corporation, the official said.

“From this stage, Special Bids and Awards Committee will do a detailed evaluation on the technical proposals to determine the compliance. The next activity will be financial proposal on December 14 and the next day the project will be awarded to the winner,” the official added. According to a statement issued by the DOTr and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) of the southeastern nation, earlier seven firms, including GMR-Megawide, submitted the bid documents for the design, engineering and construction of the Clark International Airport new terminal building in Philippines.

Clark International Airport, formerly known as the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, is in Pampanga province of Philippines and is about 90 km from the capital Manila.

Qualified bidders will then move on to the next phase of the bidding, which is the opening and evaluation of the financial documents scheduled on December 14, 2017.

The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract will be awarded to the winning bidder on December 15, 2017, the statement said.

“The Clark International Airport new terminal building will break ground on December 20, 2017 at Clark Civil Aviation Complex in Pampanga. The Php 12.50 billion (about $250 million) project is expected to be completed in 2020,” it further said.
