TIRUVALLUR: Onlookers were in for a shock on Wednesday morning when a sack full of new shoes that are used by the police force were found lying in the garbage bin outside the district Superintendent’s office in Tiruvallur. The shoes, which are specially designed for use by police personnel are generally distributed to cops from the ranks of sub-inspectors up to officers of higher ranks. However, for the past two years owing to the pandemic, none of the shoes were distributed among the force and were kept in storage. “On Wednesday morning a large sack full of these shoes were tied and discarded in the garbage bin outside the district Superintendent’s office,” police said. Following this, there have been questions as to if the shoes were discarded due to a cleaning spree and if they were not fit for use by the cops in the district then they could have been donated to those in need.
