Withdraw fee hike at toll plazas in State: TNCCI

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Madurai, has strongly objected to the increase in toll fee on National Highways to come in effect from September 1. It has been announced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) that 28 toll plazas in Tamil Nadu will be charged an additional user fee of Rs 10 for cars and jeeps, Rs 20 to Rs 30 for buses and lorry and Rs 150 for multi-axle heavy vehicles. With these, the fee hike is 15 per cent more than the current fee, N Jegatheesan, president, TNCCI, Madurai, said on Sunday, appealing to the Centre to consider withdrawing the toll fee hike.
