Warm farewell to 32 patients relieved of virus in Tiruchy GH

As many as 32 persons, who had tested positive for COVID-19, were discharged after treatment from the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) on Thursday.

They were given a warm send-off by the officials, led by the District Collector and the Dean.

According to the officials, as many as 43 were undergoing treatment for COVID-19 and among them, 32 patients, including 29 from Tiruchy and one each from the districts of Karur, Perambalur and Ariyalur, who had recovered, were sent off on Thursday. They were advised to be home-quarantined for 14 days. 

While speaking to reporters, Collector S Sivarasu said all the patients had cooperated well for the treatment. As of now, as many as 14 patients, including an 18-month-old baby are in the isolation ward at MGMGH and under monitoring and they would also be discharged soon.

The Collector said that the blood samples of as many as 502 residents were sent for testing from containment zones and all tested negative and urged the people to use masks and strictly maintain social distancing.

Earlier, all the 32 discharged patients had a warm send-off by the District Collector and the team of doctors who treated them. They were sent to their respective places by six 108 ambulances. 

26 sent off in Karur

Meanwhile, as many as 26 patients who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from Karur Government Medical College Hospital on Thursday. Among them, 21 were from Dindigul while four were from Namakkal. The doctors who treated them clapped their hands while they were leaving the hospital.
