The difficulties faced by farmers, whose standing crops cultivated in around 130 acres withered, was highlighted by DT Next in its June 19 (Tuesday) edition. Following this, EB officials installed a spare transformer in the village and linked 20 pumpset connections to it on the same day.

“As it was unable to supply power to all of them, officials provided power in alternative days,” said Sikka, an affected farmer. However, this arrangement did not benefit the farmers, who said they continued to face a water shortage.

On Friday, EB officials rectified the problem and restored power supply to all the pumpsets. Although farmers hope to retrieve some standing crop, Gopi, another farmer, said, “Paddy nurseries raised by 30 farmers in around 15 acres has totally withered.”
