Satyabrata Sahoo succeeds Lakhoni as Chief Electoral Officer
Sources said the Election Commission had chosen Sahoo from the list suggested by the state government.

Sahoo, a 1997 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, is from Nayagarh district, Odisha, and is currently the MD of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. He is expected to take charge soon after the state relieves him from his current post.
