Working on measures to help coronavirus-hit Italy: Minister

On Tuesday, Di Maio announced that the government was making available 716 million euros to help Italian firms deal with fall-out from the new coronavirus (Covid-19) global health emergency.

Italy's government is working hard on a raft of measures to be rolled out quickly "to protect Italians and to support our companies" amid the current coronavirus outbreak, Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said on Wednesday.

"It will be a very intense day. The government is focused on the various measures to be rapidly adopted to protect Italians and to support our companies," he wrote in a Facebook post.

"We are going ahead and re-launching the 'Made in Italy' brand around the world," he added.
